When the children's minister who came up with the Sonfish sketched out the fish with sunglasses, and eventually came up with colors for the Sonfish, he designed it in certain colors for an important reason.

“The Message of the Sonfish” page explains these colors and their respective meaning. These colors and their meaning guide our philosophy and ministry. It was important to the minister that the Sonfish be associated with God's great love for us.

It was very important to the minister that children, youth and people of all ages knew that in a world where lots of bad things can happen God is all about love. 

The minister wanted to use the Sonfish symbol to spread the word that God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to share that love with the people of the world. The Sonfish is about that love always shining on us and reminding us that the Son is always there for you. The message of the Sonfish further reminds us of the importance of taking care of the planet God blessed us with.
